Printing or Embroidery - Which Should I Choose?

10th Feb 2015

We always get asked this question, so here is a little information to help you make the right decision.

Embroidery:

This is the process of embroidering stitches directly into the garment.

Embroidery is extremely long lasting. The embroidered logo will last the life time of the garment. It can be washed at hot temperatures repeatedly, and still look good.  For this reason, we usually recommend that garments which are going to be worn and washed often are personalised using embroidery. This is especially true for garments such as aprons, tabards and polo shrirts. We would also recommend that fleeces and beanie hats are always embroidered due to the nature of the fabric.

Printing:

We can use screen printing or vinyl printing to reproduce your artwork.

For larger orders we would suggest screen printing. Screen printing works really well on cotton garments such as t-shirts. For orders of 100 garments or more printing can work out really cost effective.

We would usually use vinyl heat seal printing for smaller orders of 25 garments or less. We also use this type of printing for our 'Do Not Disturb Nurse on Drug Round Tabards', where you can choose a message if your choice.

If you are thinking of ordering personalised workwear, but  not sure whether you require printing or embroidery, please email your logo to us. We will reply with a quote and left you know which method of personalisation would work best.

Also, on all new orders, we always email a proof before going to production.
